Ponleur Kumar (PK) was localized formerly from Wathnakpheap (WP)/ Pestalozzi Children’s Village Foundation and Switzerland –based international NGO (SKIP). PK is a non –political, non-partisan, non-religious, non-profit and grassroots organization committed to working partnership with vulnerable families/individuals and communities to identify and address the root causes of vulnerabilities and poverty.  Currently, PK has been working in over 7 districts in 3 provinces of  Pursat, Battambang and Banteay Meanchey, with specific aims of improving children’s lives and their families through sustainable development and implementation of  the children’s and women’s rights in the northwestern border provinces.  PK receives fund from DCA/CA, EU, Concern, Asian Foundation, and USAID.

 

PK is seeking a qualified Cambodian National to fulfill the position of Empowerment Facilitator of Agriculture (01) based in Banteay Meanchey province.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop plans of actions and propose budget in detail (monthly, quarterly and 6 months)
  • Participate in developing the field manual of the project for guidelines in implementation
  • Write and consolidate monthly progress management reports and participate in producing the interim narrative reports
  • Work with the community volunteers of agriculture and community partners to recruit partner households of poor (I) & poor (II) for providing the refresher and intensive training on technical agriculture (vegetable and piggery and poultry raising) on farms including the small business training and planning
  • Facilitate to provide the refresher and intensive training on technical agriculture (vegetable and piggery and poultry raising) on farms including the small business training and planning
  • Facilitate the partner households to conduct IFS/demonstration plots of vegetable and piggery and poultry rearing
  • Facilitate the partner households to conduct the field day/dissemination sessions of IFS practice to other farmers
  • Facilitate to conduct the post harvest training courses to the partner households
  • Conduct the follow-up, monitoring and TA on regular basis to the partner households on farms
  • Market the products of Collective Business and liaison and build strong network with markets and companies/entrepreneurs.
  • Process and manage to transfer and pass on the assets for the partner households
  • Coordinate the focal point/partner households to conduct the local market information collection and dissemination and market linkage for other partner households and farmers’ vegetable, piggery and poultry products
  • Conduct mainstreaming and awareness raising/dialogues of the gender, gender-based violence, counter-human trafficking, the rights of child, women rights, civil status registration, and nutrition to the partner households, and facilitate the partner households to be registered at birth and marriage
  • Build and strengthen the relationships with communities, partner households, networks, and other likeminded NGOs
  • Strongly promote and carry out the financial and administration system and personnel policies

 

Job Requirements

  • At least hold Bachelor Degree in major of Agronomy/Rural Development or equivalent
  • At least 2 year- practical experience with IFS/plot demonstrations of vegetable and piggery and poultry rearing
  • Practical experience with running the vocational skills trainings especially on vegetable and piggery and poultry rearing
  • Demonstrated ability in report writing and project planning, monitoring and budgeting.
  • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • A highly self-motivated, committed and honest individual; good communication and facilitation skills
  • Willing and humble to learn from communities and others; sensitive to local culture and people
  • Ability to live and work with and appreciate poor people culture and committed to their development
  • Good spoken and written English
